We broke ground yesterday!!! It was such an exciting day. I posted a few pictures online and hope to write up a short description of the ceremony in the next few days (no promises, though, since we are heading to Kenya for the weekend).

About Us
We are Maital and Adam Baldachin, and this was our blog about our year in Uganda, Africa from July 2007-June 2008. Maital received the Labouisse fellowship from Princeton University to expand a library that she began in the summer of 2005. This library officially opened in July 2009. Adam traveled to Mbale as an American Jewish World Service fellow and the Masort Olami Representative in Uganda. He then worked with the Abayudaya as a B'chol Lashon Fellow. We are continuing to collaborate with Bushikori Christian Centre to establish a community library in Mbale, Uganda. We are currently living in Jerusalem, Israel, where Maital is a Dorot Fellow and Adam is learning at Machon Schechter as part of his rabbinical school studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary.-

Soooo exciting! Mazal Tov!
wow- you guys are really amazing! I’ve tried to keep tabs on you by checking out the blog from time to time, but I can’t wait to hear about your experiences in person when you guys get back. We are leaving for Ukraine in early July, so we’ll have to make sure to see you guys before then, and get lots of advice about volunteering abroad. good luck with the rest of your stay, and safe travels home!
